SERVICES OFFERED

  1. Music Therapy with singing tunes from their era. (Ages 8 – 25 years old is the most pertinent time for cementing later memories.)  
  2. Game playing or puzzles to keep mind active. Cognitive skills are continuously improved by performing various exercises and tasks requiring mental energies not ordinarily used during one's day.
  3. Reminiscence therapy where we sit, talk and discuss various subject matters important to their legacy. I ask pertinent questions that pertain to their child and adulthood and also research interesting facts concerning their era (historical and family information) whcih often jogs their memory.
  4. Art Therapy – can be as simple as coloring in children’s books together or pencil drawings of things that interest the elder. We may also disucss historically famous artists, authors and poets. 
  5. Home or Facility Visits include utilzing various therapies or just simple companionship involving general discussions, reading a book to them or reviewing the news and periodicals which interests them..
  6. Pet Therapy – taking a calm older pet (therapy dogs or Humane Society) to their home or facility to create a bond of friendship.  Discuss their childhood pets and other info during their youth.
  7. Intergenerational relationships – bring a grandchild or younger person (ages 6 – 12) with me to visit the elder.  Allow the communication to flourish between them naturally.  An interested teenager can be wonderful and the connection truly magical.  .
  8. Random Act of Kindness – Bring flowers, small gift, homemade goodie, or craft item that would surprise and delight the elder not expecting it.
  9. Liaison to family members – inform relatives as to how their loved one is doing through telephone calls and visits.
  10. Develop a Service Project - which can involve literally anything needed by the community
  11. Facilitate Lessons – healthy cooking, stretching exercises, meditation, scrapbooking or any other interest the elder may have.
  12. CAREGIVERS: If you are in need of regular breaks during the week, Lenzen Consulting can provide  time for you to accomplish some tasks while improving your loved one's overall well-being.  The key to these services is to improve all aspects of the family's life.  Everyone involved becomes a better caretaker/receiver.
